Market Depth (Level 2) shows real-time bid and ask volumes, but if it’s not appearing or remains blank in MT5, it usually comes down to one of two things: your account type or the selected instrument.
To quickly fix this issue, you can follow the steps below:
- Make sure your account supports it.
- Market Depth is typically only available on ECN, Pro, or similar advanced accounts. Your Standard or Classic account may not offer this feature.
- Use a supported instrument.
- Not all instruments provide Level 2 data. Right-click the symbol in Market Watch, choose Specification, and check if Market Depth is listed. If not, the feature isn’t supported for that instrument.
- Open it correctly.
- Go to any active chart
- Right-click > Depth of Market.
- If supported, the panel will display available bid/ask levels.
- Confirm your platform is online
- Look at the bottom-right corner of MT5. If it shows “No Connection” or “Invalid Account”, Market Depth won’t load. Reconnect to your account to restore data.
If Market Depth remains unavailable, it likely indicates that the feature is not supported for your current account type or selected instrument. This does not affect your ability to place or manage trades as usual.
