The Toolbox tab in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a key feature that provides traders with important information and tools for managing their trading activities. It includes several sections:
- Trade: Displays open positions, pending orders, account balance, equity, margin, and profit/loss in real time.
- Exposure: Shows the distribution of your account balance among the instruments you're trading.
- History: Provides a record of closed trades, deposits, and withdrawals.
- News: Delivers the latest financial news and market updates.
- Mailbox: Displays messages from the broker.
- Alerts: Lists any alerts or notifications you've set up for price movements.
- Journal: Logs all system messages related to trading operations and platform activity.
- Calendar: The calendar tab plays the role of the economic calendar. Important economic indicators/news are published there. A report can be extracted by right-clicking and selecting Export.
- Expert: Any Expert Advisor that has been used in the current session will be stored in this section. Please note that Expert Advisors must be enabled in order to view this tab. You can do this by clicking the Auto Trading button on the top of the toolbar.
The Toolbox is essential for monitoring account performance and managing trades effectively.
How to enable the Toolbox?
The Toolbox can be enabled (or disabled) in one of the following ways:
- Select View from the Main Menu and then Toolbox
- Use the key combination Ctrl+T
- Click on the Toolbox icon on the top toolbar.
