Important: This method is only available to residents of Japan.
Follow the steps below to withdraw funds from your trading account in the Axi mobile app using Local Money Transfer:
- Open the app and log in. Note: Make sure you are logged into your live account.
- Click on the “Person” icon in the top right corner.
- Select “My Accounts” from the menu, then click “Withdraw”.
- Choose the account you want to withdraw funds from.
Note: If you have multiple trading accounts, make sure you select the correct one.
- Enter the amount you wish to withdraw.
IMPORTANT! If you have previously deposited using Local Money Transfer but have not yet withdrawn via Local Money Transfer, you will need to withdraw back to the source of the initial deposit (read more about our Return to Source policy).
- To withdraw, enter the withdrawal amount in the “Money Transfer (JPY)” option. Ensure you check the currency selected for your withdrawal, then click “Continue”.
Note: If you do not have a registered bank account before applying for the withdrawal, you will be asked to add your bank account details and upload a bank statement or bank booklet to verify the destination account.
- To add a new back account, simply enter the required bank account details, including:
- Nickname (optional)
- Account Holder Name (only in Katakana characters)
- Account Number (7 numerical digits; numbers only, no spaces)
- Account Type (select from the drop-down menu)
- Bank Name (select from the drop-down menu)
- Bank Branch Name
Note: You’ll need to select your Bank from the drop-down menu, then enter your Bank Branch Name and/or Bank Branch Code into the portal exactly as it appears here.
- Click “Continue” to proceed.
- Upload a clear bank statement that matches your Axi account name, showing your name, account number, and a date within the last six months, as statements not meeting these criteria will be rejected.
The bank statement is needed for verification purposes. Bank statements are official documents issued by your bank or downloaded via online banking.
Please make sure that your bank statement or the bank passcode meets the following requirements:
- Must include your name, bank account details, and date.
- The owner's name on the statement must match the name on your Axi profile.
- The statement should not be older than six months.
- Accepted file types for upload include JPEG, PNG, PDF, and HEIC, with a maximum file size of 6 MB. IMPORTANT: Bank statements are different than bank receipts.
Note: only the first page of your bank statement is required, provided it contains the following information:
- Name/Logo of your bank
- Bank account name
- Bank account number/IBAN
- Swift/BIC
- After uploading the document, click “Submit for Review”. The verification typically takes a few minutes.
- Once approved, your bank account will appear in your profile (Pending bank accounts are not able to apply for withdrawals).
If you have already registered a bank account and made a withdrawal to the original funding source, the system will ask you to select the Local Money Transfer account you want to use for the withdrawal.
Please note: Different withdrawal methods have varying minimum withdrawal amounts. If you enter an amount lower than the minimum, you will not be able to proceed with the withdrawal.
- You will be asked to choose a Local Money Transfer account to receive your funds.
- Review the details and make sure that everything is correct. Once confirmed, click “Request Withdrawal” to submit your request for processing.
Important notes:
- After submitting your withdrawal request, the amount will be deducted from your balance while processing.
- If the withdrawal request is unsuccessful, the amount will be returned to your balance, and you will receive an email from our Client Services team explaining the reason for the failure and the next steps.
