Note: This article applies only to the MetaTrader 5 platform. If you're using MetaTrader 4, this information may not be relevant.
If your EA isn’t executing trades or behaving as expected, it’s likely due to configuration issues, platform settings, or outdated files.
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and fix it:
- Enable AutoTrading.
Click the AutoTrading button at the top of MT5. It must be green for the EA to run. - Check the ‘Experts’ and ‘Journal’ tabs.
Any EA-related errors will appear here — look for messages about initialization failures or parameter issues. - Review EA settings.
Ensure “Allow live trading” is enabled in the EA’s settings. Also, confirm that the parameters and chart (symbol + timeframe) are correct. - Update or reinstall the EA.
Use the latest version of the EA. Outdated files may not work with the current MT5 build. - Use a VPS if needed.
For uninterrupted EA performance, run MT5 on a Virtual Private Server (VPS).
